Content Covered

This is a basic session which will introduce your students to what academic journals are, how they are different from magazines and other popular sources, and where to find them. Content covered includes but is not limited to:

  • Discussion of what an academic journal is, who writes journal articles and who they are intended for
  • Differences between magazines and journals
  • Introduction of concept of 'peer review'
  • Journal citations and full articles can primarily be found in library subscription databases


Running time: 10-15min.
