All RefWorks Accounts to be Deactivated June 30, 2013
As of June 30, 2013, Babson Library will be ending our relationship with RefWorks. All Springfield College accounts will be deactivated at this time, and users will not be able to store or retrieve any further references using RefWorks.
Babson Library is recommending Mendeley and Zotero, two robust, free bibliographic management tools which have essentially the same functions as RefWorks.
This guide will help you learn how to use Mendeley or Zotero and how to export any references you may have in RefWorks.

Step-by-step guide for exporting references from RefWorks
This quick guide will show you how to get your references from RefWorks into either Mendeley or Zotero.
Needed: Access to your RefWorks account, and the desktop version of either Mendeley or Zotero installed on your computer. You can't easily export into the web versions.
Step 1: Find the "export" button in the RefWorks Quick Access menu.

Step 2: Export in "Bibliographic Software" format, as shown:

Step 3: A download box will appear, you can either click the download link or email the file to yourself. Click the download link. You'll get a file that looks like this:

Step 4: Right click and save the file somewhere you can find it again.

Step 5: Import into Mendeley or Zotero.
Step 5a: In the desktop version of Mendeley, find the "add files" button and click. You'll be prompted to select a file. Find the file you exported from RefWorks and select it. Your files will be imported.

Step 5b: In the desktop version of Zotero, find the "import" button in the "Actions" (gear) menu. Click "import" and select the file you exported from RefWorks. Your files will be imported.

That's it! You may now work with your files.
